Jay Kolyer is a member of the IAC committee. In this roll Jay will help our team formulate macro investment views, identify critical dislocations in the world’s capital markets, find investment solutions to help our clients meet their objectives, and provide general advice to SeaBridge.

Jay previously spent over twenty years as Managing Director at Howard Hughes Medical Institute.  At HHMI he developed and managed an $8 billion portfolio of diversifying assets that included hedged equity, distressed credit, market neutral, and real asset strategies.  He was actively involved in strategic and tactical decisions impacting the Institute’s $26 billion fund.

Prior to his work with HHMI, Jay served as Associate Vice President for Investments at Brown University, where he managed the university’s endowment.  His responsibilities included asset allocation, manager selection/oversight, tactical overlays and hedges, charitable trusts, and tax-exempt financing. 

Jay earned a BA in Mathematical Economics from Colgate University and an MBA in Finance from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
