Garnett Keith is the Chairman Emeritus of SeaBridge Investment Advisors.  His role is to be available to the SeaBridge team for consultation on all aspects of their business.  The Keith family uses SeaBridge as their “family office” and Garnett and three generation of his family therefore have a significant stake in the firm’s success.  He is a member of the SeaBridge’s Investment Committee.

Garnett initiated the formation of SeaBridge in 1996/97 and served as its Chairman until he retired in 2017.  Prior to founding SeaBridge Garnett worked for Prudential Insurance Company where he was the Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Officer from 1985 to 1996.  Prior to Prudential, Garnett was Vice President of Irwin Management Company, a family office in Columbus, Indiana for the Cummins Engine Company family.

In retirement, Garnett continues to serve on the Investment Advisory Committee of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.  HHMI provides major funding for medical research, and Garnett served as Trustee and Chair of the Finance Committee from 1996-2016.  Garnett also serves on the IAC for two international family offices, as well as acting as Chairman of the Clermont Foundation, a Keith family private foundation.

Garnett graduated from Georgia Tech, and Harvard Business School.  He is a CFA charterholder and holds the Chartered Financial Consultant designation as well.
